Our Facilities
Lakeland Regional Medical Center is a private, non-profit facility that has served Lakeland and Central Florida communities for more than 80 years. With a Level II Trauma Center equipped with state-of-the-art technology, life saving equipment and a dedicated chest pain management team, LRMC is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. Licensed for 851 beds and offering the most comprehensive and sophisticated care available, our technology and care go well beyond what's typical for a community our size. Here's a snapshot:
- First in the region to offer open heart procedures, including less-invasive robotic surgery, thanks to the largest and most comprehensive Heart Center in Polk County. Our Heart Team comprises the Southeast's most talented cardiovascular surgeons, electro physiologists and cardiologists who perform more than 9,000 procedures each year.
- A Cancer Program, now the fifth-largest in Florida, recognized for a renowned staff of oncologists and surgeons with a specialized understanding and treatment of female reproductive cancers. Our Cancer Center is the area's first dedicated, comprehensive center of its kind, offering coordinated, integrated and accessible care.
- The busiest Emergency Department in the state, with more than 140,000 patient visits per year, will keep your adrenaline going on the job. We even operate a separate Pediatric Emergency Department to respond to the unique needs of children.
- At our Wound Care Center, we effectively treat problem wounds that result from diabetes, venous insufficiency and trauma. The center features state-of-the-art hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
- Patient care staff members love the new design of our C3ICU (just one of four Intensive Care Units in the hospital). An open floor plan includes a centralized command center, allowing staff to access the command center quickly while caring for some of our sickest patients.
- In 2008, we opened our Center for Advancing Quality of Life (Palliative Care Unit) opened in 2008. Here, patients find comfort in a setting designed to relieve pain associated with advanced, chronic or life-limiting illnesses while providing support to their families.
