While it can't replace the personal touch of our nurses and allied health professionals, technology is essential to delivering the most effective treatments and helping patients heal quickly. The technology at Lakeland Regional Medical Center is here to make your jobs easier and safer, to streamline procedures and to improve patient diagnostics and care.

In addition, many procedures available at LRMC aren't available anywhere else in the region, so our nurses and allied health professionals stay up-to-date on the most advanced technologies and procedures. This means the opportunities for you are greater at our facilities than at others in our region. Among our exclusive medical technologies:

• The da Vinci® Surgical System to pinpoint surgical movements, minimize invasiveness and provide 3-D visualization of a surgery
• BrainLAB VectorVision software for safer surgeries and better patient outcomes
• A real-time Orthopedic Navigation System for knee and hip replacement surgeries
• Two 64-slice CT Scanners, one in radiology and one in our emergency department

We're also treating deep vein thrombosis and other blood clot problems with Ultrasound-Accelerated Thrombolytic procedures, using hyperbaric oxygen therapy, on-board imaging and video assisted technologies. And, we're successfully responding to cardiac arrest with induced hyperthermia therapy.

Nursing Technology

More than 80 ceiling lifts have already been installed in patient rooms, with additional installations planned for the future. Plus, our nursing staff enjoys full access to Mosby Nursing Consult through our Intranet, which they can conveniently log into from all nursing units.
